A Prayer Request from Paul (continued-page 2) by Gene
Easley The prison cell did not rob Paul of his victory in Christ. It just became another pulpit for him. Instead of crying, “Woe is me,” when trouble comes, may the adverse situation become another platform to preach Christ to those around us! Paul kept the victory in the midst of his trial. He left an example for all Christians who would face imprisonment and harsh persecution for their faith. We must all
agree that God knew how to most effectively use Paul.
He also knows what he wishes to do with us.
One of the most harmful things we could do in our lives is to plan
them all out and then demand that God do everything according to our
plans. There are certainly
times when we pray specifically. But
when we try to be the captain of the ship and demand that God give us good
sailing with a life full of nothing but calm waters, we might in the end
discover that He had something so much better planned. My counsel is to surrender the reigns unto Him, and when the answers to our prayer requests seem to take different turns from our plans, just look up and give Him glory. For His plans are better than ours every time! COPYRIGHT REPRODUCTION LIMITATIONS: This data file is the sole property of Gene Easley. It may not be altered or edited in any way.
