These three boys were the first to be brought to the home for abandoned children.  They were living at the city dump in Guatemala City.  Like many other children and adults in Guatemala, they would look through the trash seeking something of value that could be sold to purchase a little food to make it through the day or to simply find something edible to satisfy their immediate hunger.  It was, obviously, not a good life.
